Why and what we do?

BEE Adventures was built by the community who once helped it's founders reach the outdoors through charity. Now an established community business it plans to make sure nobody slips through the gap by removing the barriers groups face to reaching nature.

Addiction Recovery Adventures

With funding from The National Lottery, Lancaster Council, LDCVS and Eric Wright Trust we are providing free adventures to help people in recovery re-connect with nature and help create a healthy community.

Engaging with the natural world can provide a sense of purpose and meaning. It can also instill a greater appreciation for life and help individuals in recovery develop a more profound sense of self-identity and connection to something beyond themselves.

NHS Prescribed Well-being Adventures

With Funding from NHS Lancashire and South Cumbria we are providing free adventures for people prescribed to us from Doctors and Nurses, with the aim to fight depression, anxiety and stress.

A recent study found that nature-based interventions can be a cost-effective approach to improving the well-being of individuals with mental health disorders and should be included in mental health treatment plans.

The Ground Up Project

This project is funded by Food For Futures - Pot of Possiblity Fund. The aim is to create an educational growing space to teach adults and children how to grow their own vegetables. The first phase of establishing the area is now complete, the second phase of running session will begin soon! 🪴

The Student Adventure Project

This amazing project works with vunerable teens aged between 11-16 from PRUs to give them confidence in the outdoors to improve their mental health and get them spending more time exploing the natural world.

With the help of volunteers, funding partners, donations and fundraising we expect to change people's lives for the better by equipping them with the knowledge of how to connect with the natural world. Connecting with the natural world can help relieve stress, fight depression, assist addiction recovery, help deal with poor mental health and connect with a group of supporting newfound friends.

We provide everything from travel and food, through to clothing, waterproofs and gear to have an enjoyable day safely in the mountains. We aim to break down the barriers people face to getting outside and involved.

How can you help us do more?

There are a few things you can do to help:

- Join a paid adventure! We try and run the events at cost but any surplus will help fund these projects. Adventures Calendar

- Refer someone to the project who you think needs the help. (Make sure we have an upcoming date first, some projects are location specific due to funding.)
