This winter, discover Wainwright's Howgill Fells from a totally different perspective and experience a torch-guided walk with BEE Adventures.

This spectacular nighttime walk starts from the Tourist Information Centre in the heart of Sedbergh, take in the tumbling cascades of Settlebeck Gill, where walkers will spend a little time learning about the geology of the area, which so fascinated local lad and father of modern Geology Adam Sedgwick.

You will be guided to the summit of Winder (473m), where totally uninterrupted 360-degree views unfold of the Howgill Fells, Lake District, and the Yorkshire Dales and not forgetting the twinkling mass of stars that make up the Milky Way overhead giving you one of the best dark skies views going. Even on a cloudy night the nighttime atmosphere of the mountain is tranquil. You never know if you're lucky enough you may even catch sight of the Northern Lights for that perfect dark skies experience. After taking in the panoramic views we will lead you down to the welcoming lights of Sedbergh nestled at the foot of Winder.

Sedbergh - Guided Walks with BEExpeditions

On the day

17.00pm - Pick-up 1 - One of our beautiful minibuses (Pictured below) will be parked waiting outside the National Express coach station on Chorlton Street, Manchester. Roughly 5 min walk from Piccadilly.

18.00pm - Pick-up 2 - Lancaster Park and Ride, we will pull up at the bus stop opposite the back car park. (Free Parking all day)

18.45pm - We will arrive at the small town of Sedbergh, a little introduction from our mountain leaders about the day and then begin our walk. (Toilet facilities are available in the car park).

22.00pm - Arrive back down from walk latest with lots of smiles! Depart from car park.

23.00pm - Drop off 1 - Lancaster Park and Ride.

00:00pm - Drop off 2 - Arrive back at Chorlton Street, Manchester for departure. With some great memories!
