This walk holds some of the most beautiful views in England, Striding Edge is a steep craggy ridge that follows up to the summit. If you’re looking for a bit of a scramble and have a head for heights this walk is perfect for you. Sitting high above the surrounding mountains Helvellyn gives you beautiful views 360 degrees round. It's the 3rd highest point in England!

It takes approximately 6 hours to walk 12.1km to the summit of Helvellyn and back.

​

This event is in total 12.1 km and a well-rewarded trip! Once at the start of the hike, you will be led by trained mountain leaders.

On the day

8.00am - Pick-up 1 - One of our beautiful minibuses (Pictured below) will be parked waiting outside the National Express coach station on Chorlton Street, Manchester. Roughly 5 min walk from Piccadilly.

9.00am - Pick-up 2 - Lancaster Park and Ride, we will pull up at the bus stop opposite the back car park. (Free Parking all day)

​

9:45am - Service stop for refreshments for 20 minutes.

​

11:00am - We will arrive at Glenridding car park, a little introduction from our mountain leaders about the day and then begin our walk. (Toilet facilities are available in the car park).

​

5.30pm - Arrive back down from walk latest with lots of smiles! Depart from car park.

​

6:45pm - Service stop for refreshments for 20 minutes.

​

7.30pm - Drop off 1 - Lancaster Park and Ride.

​

8:30pm - Drop off 2 - Arrive back at Chorlton Street, Manchester for departure. With some great memories!
